What Is an Automated Wide Format XY Cutter?
An automatic XY cutter is a roll-to-sheet finishing system that cuts flexible media simultaneously on both the horizontal (X) and vertical (Y) axes. Unlike flatbed cutters that require media to be laid flat on a vacuum table, an XY cutter pulls material directly from a roll, reads printed registration marks, and slices the media into perfectly squared sheets in a continuous, automated workflow.
For sign shops, commercial printers, wallpaper producers, and DTF decorators, an automated XY cutter eliminates manual trimming bottlenecks, reduces labor costs, and ensures every sheet is cut to exact dimensions — every time.
